What is a doula?
Doulas are trained individuals who offer emotional, informational, and physical support during labor, birth, postpartum, and much much more! They work side by side with the rest of your birth team to ensure you feel 100% supported through your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. What makes a doula different than a midwife is that doulas DO NOT treat or diagnose any medical conditions. They also do not preform medical procedures like vitals, cervix checks, prescribe medications, etc. Doulas are your teammate, coach, and number one fan!

Pregnancy/labor
We offer support from the moment you hire us until you are settled in the hospital after delivery! We help support emotionally, mentally, educationally, and physically through pregnancy and labor.

Postpartum in home
When you get home from the hospital, it can take some time to adjust to bringing home a baby. We are here to help! We come to your home and help you with some light housekeeping as well as helping you with your daily routine with the new baby. And of course we are here to help you get some rest!

Photography
We want to help you remember special moments like pregnancy, labor and delivery! We can do multiple different sessions to help you capture all those special moments!

Placenta Encapsulation
We offer placenta encapsulation services as well as tinctures and artwork.
Who is the founder?
I’m Emily, founder of Blossoming Births Collective. Right off the bat, birth is my passion! I love everything about it from the moment of planning, pregnancy and the journey of it, labor & delivery, and the 4th trimester! I love that I have the opportunity to support individuals and families on their journeys.
The experience of pregnancy, birth, and adjusting to home life with a new baby are my priorities as a doula. I believe that EVERYONE deserves the best experience when it comes to pregnancy and birth. That’s what I’m here for! My trainings and qualifications have equipped me to be one of the best support people and it is my job to support preferences, create and protect a safe space, give emotional and physical support, and to help empower those to advocate for themselves!
I also make it a priority of mine to make sure that YOU are equipped with evidence based research to help you make the best decisions for you and your baby. I make sure to help you understand what is happening and what is going on at all times. I promise to believe in you THE WHOLE JOURNEY! Even when you lose sight of what’s going on or have doubt, I will make it a point to remind you that I believe in you and that you got this!

We are so grateful to have had Emily with us not only on our birthing day but for labor prep as well. She is absolutely wonderful and was always quick to respond to all my questions which I really appreciated. She provided so many great resources/documents and valuable information ahead of time that helped me tremendously during labor and specially as a first time mom. My partner and I both felt really comfortable with her, and she valued our birth plan. When it came time for the big day, she was with us every step of the way. She didn’t let go of my hands during those intense contractions and her encouraging words made me know that I could do this. Emily was a great doula, and I’d definitely want to have her as our doula again if we ever have another child!
After my birth, she followed up with a postpartum home visit to check on the baby and I and to answer questions, help with pumping, etc. She also provided us with breathtaking photos of both labor/birth experiences, a beautiful placenta art and placenta encapsulation, which I have been very happy with and would recommend to anyone.

From the moment we hired her she has been so kind, supportive, and resourceful. She is willing to work with all types of families and we were so lucky to have come across her!
